NJSHINE was formed in 2012 as a collaboration between Cape Regional Health System, Inspira Health Network, and Shore Medical Center to create a health information exchange for Southern New Jersey. The original purpose of NJSHINE was to:

  • To bring greater fluidity to the flow of information between providers
  • To achieve positive improvements in the delivery of patient care
  • Jointly apply for a grant to implement the NJSHINE vision

Since that time, NJSHINE has:

  • Implemented MobileMD®as the health information exchange for the three organizations
  • Launched access, beginning in December 2013
  • Continued to expand the number of connected providers
  • Provided patient portal access
  • Launched a governance process with active committees
  • Developed policies and procedures
  • Collaborated on patent and provider education
